These are a few of my favorite things!

Life has been so full lately- full of fun, parenting, cooking, working and building our home. I find that when I am at my busiest I gravitate towards the foods, snacks, recipes, workouts and gadgets that are tried and true and I know work in my favor.

With that said, I wanted to share a few of my favorite things- I have not been able to live without these during this busy season in life.

  1. Erin Condren- Life Planner. This planner keeps my family life and business life organized so that I always know where I need to be and when. I also just love that you can personalize it with your family pictures or business logo. The motivational quotes are always inspiring and it fits in my bag when I am on the run. It is just perfect.Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.20.58 AM
  2. Simply Straw. I have owned the same glass straw for two years and I love it! It is great for my super thick smoothies, easy to clean and I love that I am not creating waste by using a plastic one. If you don’t already have one I highly recommend them!Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.25.46 AM
  3. Santa Cruz Organic Lemon and Lime Juice. I use fresh citrus juice in everything from marinades, salad dressings, smoothies, dips and on top of grilled veggies and fish. I used to buy lemons and limes whole and squeeze them myself but these jars of organic, non-GMO juice are a busy girl’s best friend! They taste so pure- not like the old school lemon juice from when I was growing up. I keep my fridge stocked with these (and keep a back up in the pantry!)Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.28.40 AM
  4. Oh She Glows: Vegan Enchiladas with Cilantro Avocado Cream Sauce. I need spicy food in my life- and avocado’s are basically a food group for me. These are hands down the best enchiladas I have ever had. Ever. And enjoying them by the water at sunset with Michael completes this perfect picture for me.Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.35.17 AM
  5. Dino-Dophilus- Children’s Probiotic. I found these children’s chewable probiotics a couple years ago at a health store in south Florida. Our children adore them! They taste great and there is never a battle to get them to take them. For me, ensuring they have a healthy gut and immune system is a huge priority. Ev is in school all day, Edie and I are hitting parks, playing with friends and bopping around most of the day. Germs are everywhere and I want to keep my crew as healthy as possible. These are a lifesaver.Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.38.34 AM
  6. Himalayan Pink Salt. First and foremost I love the flavor. Nutritionally I am thankful for the 84 essential minerals this salt lends to my body. I add a pinch of pink salt into smoothies to bring out their sweetness- I use this beautiful salt in everything. I don’t keep any other salt on hand- just this one!Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.45.38 AM
  7. Purely Elizabeth- Oatmeal Cups (and everything else she makes!) These oatmeal cups are perfect for busy mornings trying to get our babes ready to head out the door. They adore them with fresh fruit on top and I love that they are no added sugar, certified organic/gluten free/ vegan, non-GMO and packed with protein and fiber. #eatpurely Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.50.15 AM
  8. Cosmic Kids Yoga. These kid-focused yoga and mindfulness videos have become a part of our nightly rituals. The kids absolutely adore the adventures that are taken all while moving their little bodies. They beg for yoga time at night and I find that it really has helped get them wound down faster (daylight savings time has been a bit tricky!)Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 5.57.55 AM
  9. Be Well by Frank Lipman: Daily Dose Vitamins. I eat healthy and include lots of fruits, vegetables and nutrients into my diet. But, life gets busy, meals get hurried and I can’t always prepare a well rounded meal for myself. I love these vitamins because they bridge any gaps in my diet to make sure I get all the vitamins that I need. They contain a multi-vitamin, fish oil and probiotic. I get everything I need for the day (I also take a B12 vitamin since I don’t eat meat) in one easy to carry pack. Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 6.02.30 AM
  10. Barney Butter: Raw + Chia. This new blend has become my go-to. It pairs unroasted/unblanched almonds with the Omega-3 boosting power of the Chia seed. Superfood almond butter? Yes, please! I just used it in my delicious adaptation of Oh She Glows- Cookie Dough Bites and they were so good!Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 6.12.41 AMScreen Shot 2016-03-26 at 6.07.33 AM
  11. Early morning at-home workouts. I love that working out at home can stay fun, accessible and effective. I rotate between my three favorite at home workout programs and they are: Tone It Up , Blogilates, Kayla Itsines: 12 Week Bikini Body Guide. These three workout programs keep me in shape and no workout is longer than 30 minutes. I love to pair up a 15 minute TIU video with one of my Blogilates videos. The combinations are endless and I just can’t get over how effective they are!
  12. BeautyCounter: Protect All Over Sunscreen. It is that time of year- with Spring Break coming to an end it is officially beach and pool season in Florida. I slather my kids and self with sunscreen and have been on the hunt for a safer way to protect our skin. Discovering this sunblock has been perfect! I love that it doesn’t leave white streaks- it literally smooths right into your skin. I feel good about every ingredient that is in the sunscreen (and more importantly the yucky ingredients they leave out!)Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 6.20.49 AM

These are all the things that I am loving right now from a health coach and mom perspective 😉 I hope that you are all enjoying this wonderful, long Easter weekend. We are gearing up for a family visit and couldn’t be more excited about creating memories and lots of laughter.

xoxo

I so loved and enjoyed reading this! Because of you I discovered Barney Butter, Purely Elizabeth, Oh She Glows, Dr. Lipman. But I think my favorite part of your lifestyle is that working out doesn’t have to take hours- even 30 mins day can be soo effective.

    Brooke,

What are some of the adaptions you made to the peanut butter cookie bites? I’d like to reduce the amount of maple syrup/agave nectar if possible. Thanks!

  8. Good morning! I used the Barney Butter Raw + Chia in these as my nut butter and I always add less liquid sweetener. I don’t need as much as most recipes ask for and no one will miss it 😉 I would try a little less and taste the mixture. Since they are raw you don’t need to worry about testing as you go!
