Living. Well.

I want to talk about those two words for a minute. As a health coach I work each and every day to help my clients achieve their most healthy, happy and balanced life. We talk, experiment, laugh, support, grow and essentially create changes in their life that help them to achieve their personal goals.

There can be a huge learning curve at first when you dip your toes into trying to eat more mindfully, move your body more and essentially live a “well” life.

I will never forget when I first started to dabble in improving my health. I decided to make green smoothies- it was 4 years ago- and there were many times I had to drink them while holding my nose because they turned out so bad (all the while the little ones were cracking up). But, you learn, keep trying and figure out for yourself what will work in the long term.

The one thing I will say is that you have to really WANT to feel better tomorrow than you do today to keep ploughing ahead. The journey to living well is never ending and everyone hits road blocks along the way. I do, clients do, everyone does. Wellness is not second nature even to those most passionate about it. But, it is so incredibly worth the effort.

Nutrition is continuously evolving and new information is always coming to light. The way you eat today may be completely different than the way you eat one day, one week, one month or one year from now. That is the beauty in the journey. You can make changes and try different ways of eating on for size to see what fits YOUR life. There is no one diet fits all.

I am thankful this Friday for my journey- it has led me down a path that I never thought possible. I hope to lead by example in our home to Evan and Edie and use my journey, partnered with my education at Institute for Integrative Nutrition ( learn more about being a health coach here)  to propel the incredible people I get to work with into the life of their dreams.

That is why I adore my job- there is nothing better than hearing the words “I have never felt better in my entire life.” That is wellness in a nutshell. It is a feeling that is brought to you by the foods you lovingly feed yourself, the ways in which you choose to move your body and live your life.

Wishing you all a wonderful Friday and weekend ahead. And, as always, if you have any questions or want to connect about your own goals I am always here. Nothing makes me happier than this work and the impact it has on improving lives.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. As always, you have such a soothing way of writing/explaining. I so enjoyed reading this and found comfort that Wellness isn’t 2nd nature and that is is difficult- but thank you for your motivation/reminder that it is oh so worth it!
